The content in 509: The People Have Spoken—Essays On The Making of A New Malaysia is divided into three sections, which convene important issues that arose before the 14th general elections in 2018 or other elections prior to that, election forecasts or comments on candidates and post-election analysis. In order to present a multiracial and multilingual perspective in a more comprehensive manner, the editorial board has selected 10 articles from Malay, English and Chinese each and translated the 30 articles from their original language into the two other languages. The book was published in three languages.
The JADE was responsible in translating part of the content from Malay to Chinese and helped the editorial board to provide a more pleasant reading experience to readers from different language background.
